General Hunting Information:

Weapons allowed on post (refer to the 200-3 Hunting, Fishing, and Trapping policy):

Note: All firearms must be registered through the department of Emergency Services on Grey Road. Bows are excluded but must be declared at the gate upon arrival.

Waterfowl Hunting:

Waterfowl hunting is available to Active Duty, Retired Active Duty, and their guests, only. Dogs are allowed, but refer to the 200-3 page 9 for more information.

Turkey Hunting:

RSA only participates in spring turkey season. Turkey shoot hours are 30 minutes prior to sunrise and ends at 16:00. Turkey Hunting is prohibited on any portion of Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge.

Deer Hunting: 

RSA participates in the bow and gun seasons.

After completing all of the steps above, and you have your dash placard, you are now able to hunt.

If you are a hunter that has already has an iSportsman account with another installation, we will be able to transfer that information over so you can use that account.

Note: Your account will not be validated for permit purchase until you bring the items listed above to 5138 Sportsman Rd. Natural Resources Building.


 The new areas that have been changed to bow, have been changed on some dashplacards but not all. We recommend that hunters review this link and make sure they are aware of the changes. (they also recieved a notification of these changes at the time via email)

All hunters are required to read and be familiar with the 200-3 Hunting, Fishing, and Traping policy. For quick access click here


RSA hunting begins 30 mins before sunrise and ends 30 mins post sunset. All hunters must be checked out of iSportsman 90 mins aftersunset.

Attention ALL hunters: ​If you are tracking an animal or carrying one to the skinning shed, please call the office and let staff know that you are bringing an animal.


If you are unable to reach staff at our office, please notify CLEO's, if one is unavaliable, leave your name and number on the answering machine and leave the animal in the walk-in cooler and staff will get to it the next morning.  


 

Please Note: Hunting is a privilege and failure to obey the guidelines set by Hunting, Fishing, and Trapping Policy (200-3) can end in a loss of your ability to hunt on Redstone Arsenal.
