Question: Who can hunt on RSA? Active Duty military, Retired AD, National Guard, and Reserves.

Answer: DOD civilians and their dependents. NASA civilians and their dependents. Disabled Veterans with Veterans Health ID card. Purple Heart Recipients, Former prisoners of War. Contractors who work full-time on Redstone (contractor form signed by C.O.R.)

 

Question:Can I bring a guest to hunt with me?

Answer: Active Duty and Retired AD may host 2 dependents and 2 guests per year. All 72 hour guests must be registered with Environmental Conservation office.

 

Question: Can I register by dependents as a Government Civilian?

Answer: Government Civilians may register spouses and their dependents up to 22 years old. 

 

Question:Can I bring a nonhunter into the woods with me?

Answer: ABSOLUTELY!! Never too early or late to recruit a Conservationist, Ask Environmental Management Staff for info.

 

Question: How early or late can I pull the trigger?

Answer: Thirty mins before sunup and thirty mins post sunset. Does not apply to Waterfowl hunting.

 

Question: When can my child hunt with me?

Answer: 10 years old. (9 Years old for youth hunts), but anyone over the age of 16 must obtain a hunting permit. 

 

Question: What is the difference between a participant and a guest?

Answer: A guest has an RSA isportsman account and permit and is actively participating in an activity.  A participatant is an observer who is not in possession of a weapon. If a hunter has a participant they will only notate that person on their dash placard with their name. 

 

Question: Do I need to register my bow if that is the weapon i'm going to be hunting with?

Answer: No you do not have to register your bow, but you do have to declare it at the gate.

 

Question: If iSportsman isn't operational, What do I do?

Answer: All hunters will be required to stop in at our office 5138 Sportsman Rd, check the range report that will be posted on the door, and sign-in our our manual sign-in sheet .Please keep trying to login on iSportsman periodically, as we will be working to get it operational.
